59 - The Gigafactory Verkor in Dunkirk secures a future thanks to Renault
Even though the Verkor battery factory is not yet built, it already has a big customer. Indeed, Renault Group and Verkor have entered into a long-term partnership for the supply of 12 GWh per year of batteries for electric vehicles. These are high-performance, low-carbon batteries that will equip vehicles in the upper segments of the Renault Group brands, in particular from 2025, the future 100% electric C-Crossover GT from Alpine, which will be manufactured in Dieppe. For François Provost, Director of Purchasing, Partnerships and Public Affairs at Renault Group: “Renault Group confirms its confidence in Verkor and its innovative, high-performance and low-carbon technology. This partnership makes it possible to secure a long-term supply of electric batteries and to ensure enhanced traceability of the elements that compose them. It is part of the ambition of the Group, and of its future entity Ampere dedicated to electricity and software, to control the entire electrical value chain. »
