14-Murata invests in a new miniature silicon capacitor production line in Caen

Murata, a world leader in the design, manufacture and sale of ceramic-based passive electronic components and solutions, communication modules and power supply modules, will soon welcome a new production line for silicon capacitors (capacitors on silicon) on 200mm slices. This project, whose work will begin in Caen in April, required an investment of more than €60 million, with funds from the France 2030 program and the PIIEC (important project of common European interest). As a result, around 100 jobs will be created by 2025. This new line will manufacture products intended primarily for the mobile telephony market, with higher performance and capacity values, in extremely small sizes and with thicknesses down to 40µm.
