MGB2 Modular: new networking options for EtherCAT / FSoE

EUCHNER expands the range of usable fieldbus protocols with its proven MGB2 Modular safety door system. In addition to the connection to the PROFINET / PROFIsafe and EtherCAT P / FSoE bus protocols, Euchner now offers an MBM bus module for the connection to the secure EtherCAT / FSoE protocol.

The MGB2 Modular secures access to protective doors and enclosures behind which there are danger zones on industrial machines and installations. The entire system is designed modularly and can thus be individually customized: it consists of an interlocking module containing submodules for control and signaling elements as well as optional expansion modules. Additionally, the user can choose the MBM bus module for their individual connection. The MGB2 interlock module can be connected directly to all bus modules or mounted separately and connected via cables. The advantage: When the bus module is remote, it is then possible to connect several MGB2 Modular interlocking modules as well as separately mounted expansion modules to the same bus module. This offers great freedom in plant design and helps reduce material costs. As “Smart Devices”, the individual devices provide a wealth of diagnostic data in the form of EtherCAT or PROFINET messages, for example voltage, temperature or switching cycles. Thanks to the integrated web server, the user can quickly obtain a detailed overview of the device status if necessary.
