Secure clamping and fixing of workpieces – new compact rotating clamps from norelem

A new, highly compact model, developed by norelem, expands the range of norelem floating clamps for clamping and holding workpieces at predetermined clamping points. The new norelem flexible clamp model is available in two versions. The standard clamping jaw can be modified or replaced, depending on the application.

The clamping jaws of rotary clamps hold the workpiece in position using spring force, but with some flexibility, and support it, which is why these swivel clamps are used for thin, bend-sensitive workpieces. They also prevent vibration and shifting during machining, making them ideal for blanks with blades or parts with complex or irregular shapes. The "soft" clamping of the workpiece allows the freedom of movement necessary for machining and helps achieve accurate results for sensitive parts, while minimizing clamping errors.

Designed for clamping forces of up to 8000 N and great ease of use

Norelem's new floating clamps are available in two versions: "Form A" has fixed clamping jaws, while "Form B" allows the clamping jaws to be changed. Form A is designed to generate load and clamping forces of up to 5000 N, while Form B can achieve load and clamping forces of up to 8000 N. In both versions, the base body is made of nitrocarburized steel and the stops are made of black anodized aluminum.

The floating clamp can be locked in place with a single operation to clamp the component and lock the base body in the correct position. First, the flexible stop is pushed down so that it is under the workpiece. Second, the jaws of the floating clamp are pivoted into position. The lower jaw of the rotating stop must then be in contact with the underside of the workpiece. In the next step, the position of the flexible clamp is locked by tightening the hex nut. It is important to tighten the nut within the minimum and maximum torque limits. The workpiece is now both clamped and supported.
