Metal Additive Manufacturing
Additive manufacturing of metal parts combines the design flexibility of 3D printing with the mechanical properties of metal. From tooling parts with cooling channels to lightweight aerospace structures, applications involving complex metal parts can benefit from 3D printing. Multistation cooperates with partners of excellence in this market: - in SLM (Selective Laser Melting), with AMPRO, TECHGINE machines, etc. or in micro slm 3D MICROPRINT - in DED (Direct Energy Deposition), with OPTOMEC machines (powder laser ), MELTIO (wire and powder laser), GEFERTEC (waam), SPEE3D (cold spray) - finally in Binder Jetting, with EXONE precursor and technology leader (sand, metal or ceramic). MELTIO: UNIQUE TECHNOLOGY MELTIO's proposal is to bring an affordable metal additive manufacturing solution to the market, while maintaining excellent manufacturing quality. The core of the Meltio technology is a head with the ability to shape wire and metal powder. 6 diode lasers with an overall power of 1.2kW are mounted on the head and focused at the point of application. This technology makes it possible to quickly produce dense metal parts, which can then be machined. The technology exists in a turnkey version, integrated into a compact 3-axis manufacturing enclosure: the M450. It also exists as a kit, ready to be integrated into any CNC system or robot: the ENGINE head.
