New WAGO Pro 2 power supplies ensure maximum system availability

The WAGO Pro 2 range of power supplies offers new possibilities in terms of communication and configuration. With an efficiency of up to 96%, they have the best energy efficiency on the market today.

Thanks to their configuration interface, they adapt to the requirements of each application: parameters such as output voltage and overload behavior are easily adjustable via software. The monitoring functions provide information on current power data at any time, signal possible malfunctions and thus enable continuous monitoring of applications.

WAGO Pro 2 power supplies can be integrated into an industrial network via a pluggable communication module on the configuration interface. Optional communication modules ensure continuous data exchange. Users will have the choice of the bus on which they connect the Pro 2: as part of the launch, only a module for IO-Link is available at the moment; further modules for protocols such as Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP are forthcoming.

The Pro 2 power supplies have a very small footprint (70% less than the previous generation), therefore requiring less space in the control cabinet and generating less heat loss. One of the main advantages of this range of power supplies lies in their high current reserve. Thanks to an output current of 600% for a maximum of 15 ms, the TopBoost function allows instantaneous tripping of thermal-magnetic circuit breakers. The PowerBoost provides an output current of 150% for 5 s for starting difficult loads. Due to the high power reserve, it is no longer necessary to oversize the power supplies.

These technical characteristics, combined with an MTBF of up to one million hours and oversized components, make the Pro 2 a powerful and durable power supply for the most demanding applications.
