The Ultimaker S3 is as reliable and precise a printer as the other models of the Dutch manufacturer. Maybe even more! Indeed, the Ultimaker S3 is closed at the front and equipped with numerous sensors, facilitating its automation. Calibration is done independently before each print. The printer is also equipped with a filament sensor, preventing a material flow problem, or when the filament spool is empty. These sensors are present in the feeders, which have been reinforced to print the most complex filaments without wear.

AUTOMATED MANAGEMENT ON ULTIMAKER S3

The Ultimaker S3 benefits from the entire Ultimaker ecosystem, enabling automated job management. Indeed, once your Ultimaker S3 is connected, it will recognize the inserted filaments thanks to its NFC system. Once the material is recognized, CURA adapts the print settings for the Ultimaker S3.

In addition, the Ultimaker S3 benefits from options that support this automation. Namely the integrated camera, which allows you to monitor the work in progress remotely, but also the feeder, equipped with an end of filament detector. Once the current spool is finished, the Ultimaker S3 pauses waiting for an operator to reload the machine with a new spool of filament. From then on, printing resumes!

CHANGING COMPONENTS: QUICK AND EFFICIENT

The Ultimaker S3 is designed for industry. The operator should spend the least amount of time on the machine, both for adjustments and routine maintenance. Ultimaker therefore thought of a system of plug'n'play components. The tray is removed in seconds. The PrintCores system allows the Ultimaker S3 to adapt to any printing situation, in just a few seconds. As long as you need to change the spool: you no longer have to wait for the nozzle to heat up before removing the filament.
