WHAT IS SAND/GREEN SAND FOUNDRY?
Sand casting is a technique for making metal parts by pouring molten material into a mold made up of sand, clay and catalysts. Molds are destroyed during production and are therefore not permanent.
Different stages of manufacturing a part in sand casting:
- Production of model parts in steel, resin or wood
- Realization of the upper and lower part of the sand mold
- Sand hardening
- Pouring molten metal into molds
- Destruction of the mold to recover the metal part
- Possible heat treatment of part
- Finishing of parts (blasting, deburring, machining, treatment)
ADVANTAGES OF SAND FOUNDRY

DISADVANTAGES OF SAND FOUNDRY
- Risk of shrinkage
- Draft angle (low) present on the mold to be able to remove the model without damaging the model or the walls of the mold
