BioTJet: new biofuel plant in the Lacq basin

Emmanuel Macron has just announced the establishment of a biokerosene plant in Pardies, in the Lacq basin.

The plant in question, BioTJet, produces biokerosene for aircraft. At least 800 direct and indirect jobs will thus be created in the Lacq basin.

In Pardies first, where the BioTJet plant is going to be built, but also in Mourenx and Lacq, on production sites for hydrogen and methanol, the ingredients that make up biokerosene.

The project as a whole, led by the company Elyse Energy, represents a total of 2 billion euros of investment, with 1 billion for the Pardies site alone.

With this new plant, whose construction is scheduled for 2025 with commissioning by 2028, the Lacq basin confirms the shift towards biofuels that the site has wanted to take in recent years, and the industrial image green he wants to give himself.
