DS Smith favors the cardboard pallet at La Chevrolière

DS Smith Packaging, the British group, is inaugurating a unique cardboard pallet manufacturing workshop on the Cartonnerie de l'Atlantique site, near Nantes. Equipped with a brand new production line dedicated to the Kaypal range, it responds to a booming market. Cardboard pallets indeed have undeniable advantages over their wooden counterparts: a reduced carbon footprint, increased safety for operators and optimization of storage space. DS Smith goes even further by offering a multi-rotation version of its palette, the Kaypal MR, which can be reused 4 to 5 times. An investment of €600,000 was made for this workshop, the design of the production line of which was entrusted to Clemessy, a renowned industrial partner. The Kaypal palette, launched 15 years ago, confirms its dazzling success with a 40% increase in volume over the last 5 years at DS Smith. In total, the DS Smith Packaging Atlantique site invested nearly 6 million euros in a few months, including the extension of the storage warehouse and the acquisition of a new Bobsts Mastercut machine."
