Secure field enclosure SFB-PN-IRT-8M12-IOP

the Schmersal Group presents its new SFB-PN-IRT-8M12-IOP secure field box, which will be marketed in mid-2019. The safe field box for PROFINET / PROFIsafe systems enables the simple plug-and-play installation of up to eight safety switching devices.
The universal interface with M12 - 8-pin connector allows the connection of a multitude of safety switching devices: electromechanical and electronic interlocks, switches, sensors, light curtains and control boxes.
Even safety switching devices from other manufacturers can be connected easily, for example by means of adapters.

To enable their evaluation, the fail-safe signals of the connected fail-safe switching devices are forwarded to a fail-safe controller via the secure PROFINET / PROFIsafe fieldbus interface. PROFIsafe is the safe functional extension of standard communication via PROFINET. Communication based on PROFIsafe is protected against manipulation, transmission errors, signal sequence changes, etc. The parallel transmission of the safety signals enables free interconnection of the safety switching devices on the safety controller. Simply configurable, it is also possible to connect various devices, thus offering maximum flexibility when designing security solutions. In addition, all device connections are equipped with a self-resetting fuse for line protection. After eliminating the overload on a connection, the fuse is automatically reset after a short cooling phase.
