Spring plungers

Spring plungers are mainly used as support fingers or extractors. They are used for fastening, indexing or quickly positioning elements in tool manufacturing or machine construction. Spring plungers are also standardized parts frequently used in everyday life. The blocking thus obtained is useful and functional. Spring plungers are used, for example, for closing systems, slides, lamp sockets, or even for centering storage surfaces. This is why they are relatively present in homes.

norelem offers spring plungers in many different shapes and sizes. There are two main versions when it comes to the pusher attachment. To do this, the spring plunger has either a slot or a hexagon socket opening. On the other side we find the so-called pressing body. This is usually a ball, but it can also be a bolt. The insert is made of steel, stainless steel or plastic. It is available either in a smooth or threaded version. The balls are made of steel, ceramic or polyoxymethylene (POM).

In addition to the standard versions, spring plungers are also offered with LONG-LOK safety, adhesive seal, support head, double-sided or even with classic screw head.

Technical details

Information relating to polyoxymethylene:

Polyoxymethylene is a macromolecular thermoplastic material. It is known by the acronym POM. It is also often called acetal. Its main advantages are low friction and high rigidity and thermal stability. All these advantages make POM an ideal plastic for precision parts in industry.

Details of these new pusher references:

- The integrated sensing spring plunger (03020) is equipped with a proximity switch which can trigger a control signal. Both a detection and position element, this pusher is available from M6 to M10. The bodies, fingers and springs are made of steel. It is possible to control a pusher in normally open or normally closed mode. It can be used in harsh environments within a temperature range of –25° to +70°C and meets the IP65 standard. A mini diode (LED) inserted allows you to control the state of the pusher open or closed.

- The long model spring plunger (03040) solves the problems of applications incorporating deep holes thanks to its long stroke. From 6 to 12 mm instead of 0.5 to 5.5 for a classic pusher. This pusher allows indexing and positioning but can also be used as an ejector. It is available in diameters M8, M10, M12 and M16 and in lengths from 30 to 60 mm.

- The shoulder pusher (03073) can be assembled and disassembled without any adjustment, the length being defined once and for all thanks to the shoulder. Thus, it is even possible to fully screw the 03073 without losing either the pusher or the setting. This reference is available in both steel and stainless steel.
