Kraków Metropolitan Area is a functional region, including Kraków (the second-largest city in Poland) and a neighbouring complex of urban units, connected to the metropolis by business and social relations. It is a platform for cooperation for 15 regional units inhabited by over 1 million people.  It is the centre of higher education (23 Universities operate in the region) where over 130 thousand students start their education every year. The Metropolitan Area connects people and businesses and is open for investments of every kind, especially from the area of smart specialisations.

Kraków Metropolitan Area is represented by Krakow Nowa Huta of the Future Inc. The company represents the economic potential of the region and is responsible for the revitalization and the creation of a new district based on smart-city assumption in Krakow City in Poland. Our company relates to the Municipal Government of Kraków City and the Malopolska Regio Authorities. Our company manages one of the biggest revitalization programs in Poland, where the post-industrial area is retrieved and prepared for investors. The investment area is approximately 800 ha, divided into sub-zones from almost 40 ha to 300 ha. Kraków Nowa Huta of the Future Inc., is a company with its registered seat in Krakow, established in November 2014 by the Municipality of Krakow and the Małopolska Region for the purposes of implementing a project under the same name “Kraków – Nowa Huta Przyszłości”. The key task for the Company is to create a new urban unit in such a way to ensure comprehensive revitalization of the post-industrial areas of eastern part of Krakow on a few levels: infrastructural, functional and social levels. This will be achieved through developing the area by increasing attractiveness of Nowa Huta, most of all, for investors, city community and the Municipality of Krakow, as well as the entire region and tourists.
