Framework Agreement Signing with SNCF Voyageurs

STIMIO announces the signing of a 5-year framework contract (2020-2025) for the supply of IoT connected sensors to its client SNCF VOYAGEURS.

Nantes, France, March 9, 2021 – STIMIO, a company specializing in the supply of connected IoT solutions for industry (IIoT) announces the signing of a 5-year framework contract with its client SNCF VOYAGEURS for the supply of connected sensors.

Since 2017, the SNCF group has embarked on a vast digital transformation program. The focus on the Industrial Internet and IoT projects aim to improve the quality of service provided to users, improve the availability of rolling stock and generate significant productivity gains. Maintenance costs can indeed be reduced by 10 to 30%, with gains that can amount to millions of euros.

The framework contract signed with the SNCF VOYAGEURS Equipment Department covers the exclusive supply by STIMIO of more than 12,500 IoT sensors – MARTI sensors and MELI* communication gateways – to equip TER, Intercités, TGV and Freight trains.

These rail-certified connected sensors have been designed to respond to many problems identified on rolling stock. The use cases already deployed in commercial service are numerous: detection of the water level of toilets, windscreen washers, supervision of train doors, pressure in air conditioning units, etc. Other use cases are also being studied.

The MARTI and MELI devices allow trains to communicate through the use of technologies that were not available at the time of their design. The connected trains thus transmit data in real time via the long-range, low-frequency LoRaWAN network. At the same time, work on modeling Returns on Investments was also carried out by teams from the SNCF VOYAGEURS Equipment Department.
